AVENGER is not an organophosphate or a pyrethroid, but rather a new class of chemistry - organochlorine.

This is a brand new chemical class now only available in the AVENGER insecticide ear tag. AVENGER utilizes a highly effective insecticide compound that has been used for many years in row crops, fruits, nuts, vegetables and horticultural products for the control of a wide variety of production pests. The active ingredient in AVENGER is technically classified as a 'toxic organochlorine pesticide of moderate mammalian toxicity which does not accumulate in the tissue of man or animals to any significant extent.' This is a highly efficacious, broad-spectrum insecticide compound that is safe to humans and animals when used according to label directions. It is, however, deadly on flies and other insect pests affecting beef cattle and lactating dairy cattle.

Much like the organophosphate class of insecticides, AVENGER's active ingredient is a nerve toxin. As a nerve toxin, it disrupts the nervous system of insects and causes internal system breakdowns that kill or predispose the insect to paralyzing nervous system failure. In extensive field testing with AVENGER, the killin action in the insects is instant and deadly - within minutes - of exposure to the AVENGER insecticide ear tag.

What makes AVENGER different than organophosphate or pyrethorid insecticide ear tags is that insects have never been exposed to the chemical and have no defense mechanism. (resistance).
